Help! I've been hurt in a car crash.

Motor vehicle accidents are one of the biggest causes of personal injuries in the United States, including in Indiana. Whether seemingly minor or severe, these injuries can unfortunately disrupt your life by preventing you from being able to return to work for a period of time or by requiring you to undergo ongoing medical treatment, for example. Sometimes a car crash is the result of the negligence of another driver, whereas others are caused by another motorist's reckless behavior behind the wheel.

Is your age affecting your ability to operate a vehicle?

The dangers on the roads affect us all. Chances are you know someone who has been involved in a car accident - or worse - who has lost a loved one in a crash. If every driver takes responsibility for his or her driving ability at all times, many traumatic crashes may be avoided. That includes being responsible enough to obey the rules of the road and not to drive after drinking, without a valid license, while on medication or while impaired in any way. You may not realize that age can also be an impairment, and drivers older than 65 fall into the category of mature drivers.

Everyone's worst nightmare: Hit by an uninsured driver

It is hard to imagine driving around without car insurance, but thousands of people do it in Indiana every day. In fact, more people drive around uninsured than you might think. 14.2 percent of Indiana drivers do not carry insurance. Their lack of insurance not only puts them at risk but everyone else on the road. It is important to know what to do if you are hit by an uninsured motorist.

So far, no charges have been filed in association with this crash.

One woman sustained life-threatening injuries, and two other are in serious condition following a car accident in Indianapolis on the night of April 25, according to local sources. Indiana authorities have confirmed the serious accident was a result of driver error. So far, they have not filed charges against the driver.

Students, coaches injured in serious accident

Performing other tasks while behind the wheel of a motor vehicle might seem innocent enough, but the possible repercussions can be drastic. An Indiana woman who apparently became careless behind the wheel caused a serious accident with a school bus. Several minors and adults were injured in the rollover wreck.

Signs that a driver was distracted before an accident

It isn't always easy to tell when other drivers around you are engaging in unsafe behaviors. While you can see and avoid speeding drivers who are weaving in and out of traffic, it is much more difficult to see and avoid the driver behind you who is looking down for a few seconds to read a text.

What are some injuries that people suffer in car accidents?

At some point in life, it is almost inevitable that every individual will be involved in a car accident at some level. Most Indiana car accidents do not result in serious injuries. However, for individuals who are involved in a car accident of a serious nature, there are several different types of life-threatening injuries that could potentially occur.
